Celebrity Cruises has announced an increased Southern California presence for 2014 with the greatest number of departures from the Port of Los Angeles (San Pedro) in its history. Beginning in March, the line will launch a total of eight roundtrip sailings from Los Angeles to Pacific Coast ports, including specialty cruises for beer and wine enthusiasts.
Celebrity Century will sail 7- to 13-night Pacific Coastal and Gold Rush cruises departing in March, April and May. The cruises call in Santa Barbara, San Francisco (overnight), Monterey, Catalina Island and Seattle, as well as Ensenada, Mexico or Victoria and Vancouver, British Columbia. Pricing for a seven-night cruise starts at $599.
Working in conjunction with the California Beer Festival and Cruise Specialists, Inc., Celebrity has scheduled a craft beer cruise on April 12. The seven-night California Beer Festival at Sea will travel up the California coast with stops in Santa Barbara, San Francisco (overnight), Monterey, Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. There will be specially planned beer and lunch pairings, a craft beer roundtable and “CBF Craft Beer Heaven” featuring Ninkasi and Lagunitas Brewing Companies.
In addition, two wine cruises are scheduled. The first, departing March 21, is a partnership with Costco Travel and Zaca Mesa Winery celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the movie, “Sideways.” The second will take place April 19 in partnership with Worldview Travel and the California Wine Festival.
