If you’re a “foodie” like me, you understand what I mean when I say that no trip is complete without at least one serving of the best meal in town. That’s why when I discovered Barcelona’s Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria (or La Boqueria), I felt that I had entered a Catalonian paradise.
Vibrant fruit stands, succulent paella dishes and fragrant spice shacks all vie for your attention — there really seems to be no craving that the boisterous vendors of La Boqueria can’t satisfy. If you’re feeling adventurous, opt for the marinated cow tongue (though the freshly squeezed guava juice is also a reliable choice). Whatever your desire may be, La Boqueria has the right ingredients to satisfy a tourist’s appetite for something different.
