The American Star, a coastal ship from American Cruise Lines built in 2007, is sister to the 2005-built American Spirit.
Both take up to 100 passengers compared to 49 for running mate American Glory. The American Star is 220 ft long and U.S.-flagged; the crew is all North American. The 230-ft, 120-passenger Queen of the West, a sternwheeler, was added to the fleet in 2010 for cruises along the Columbia and Snake Rivers in the Pacific Northwest.
