The elegantly restored Ohio River town of Paducah, in the western part of the state, calls itself "Quilt City USA"—quite a claim in a state filled with numerous talented artisans. It is one of seven UNESCO Cities of Crafts and Folk Art.
The main attraction is the Museum of the American Quilter's Society, which features a stunning collection of quilts, old and new (the modern ones reminded us of abstract paintings).
