Accommodations range from deluxe world-class hotels to campgrounds, hostels, local inns and bed-and-breakfasts. They're generally very well kept and comfortable. We highly recommend staying in as many types of accommodations as possible to get a better feel for the country.Read More ...

Winter visitors to the northern town of Jukkasjarvi (near Kiruna) can spend the night in the world's largest igloo. The building is made up of 3,000 tons of snow and ice, and it includes a hotel, art gallery, chapel, restaurant, theater and ice bar. The temperature inside is a steady 20 F/-7 C, and overnight guests sleep in arctic sleeping bags on top of blocks of ice covered with reindeer skins. The building melts sometime in early June.
