With the help of MMGY Global, the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) recently conducted its Value of Travel Agents study in order to gauge how travel agents impact the consumer travel experience. The results show that more than half of the Millenial, Generation X and Baby Boomer participants who worked with travel agents in the past year believe that leisure trips planned with a travel agent’s help were more satisfying than vacations organized without their assistance. Another key finding from the study revealed that travel agent use is on the rise — 13 percent of U.S. travelers worked with a travel agent in the past year, compared to 11 percent a few years ago. Results were based on responses from 8,338 consumers who took one or more leisure trips in the past year.
