American Cruise Lines has announced passenger growth of over 25 percent in the past year, the third consecutive year of such development. The company is seeing the highest repeat booking rates in its history and, in response to its growth, is completing another new riverboat for its fleet: a paddlewheeler that will accommodate 150 passengers. The line also plans to announce additional newbuilds shortly.
“The demand for riverboat vacations is higher than it has ever been and, as the leader in the U.S. river and coastal cruise category, American Cruise Lines remains poised for continued expansion and success with its new building program,” said president Charles A. Robertson. “Today’s travelers are seeking more personalized and intimate travel experiences, along with top-notch accommodations and service, which is only possible with new small ships like ours.”
Connecticut-based American Cruise Lines operates more than 35 itineraries on rivers and waterways in 28 states throughout the country. The company offers theme cruises from culinary to Civil War and Mark Twain.
