Cancun Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has announced the enhancement of Cancun Center, set in the city’s Hotel Zone. Opened in 2004, the convention center has become an oft-used facility for national and international events. In 2014, Cancun Center welcomed 13,000 guests and 12 major conferences.
The site will remain open throughout its makeover, hosting 19 conferences and approximately 23,000 visitors this year. Once completed next June, the center will boast a fresh, modern facade designed to help support a contemporary image for Cancun itself.
“Cancun Center’s renovation will greatly reinforce the destination’s position as a desirable location for meetings and conferences,” said Jesus Almaguer, CEO of Cancun CVB. “In addition to our pristine beaches, turquoise waters, renowned service and high-end resorts fit for meetings of all sizes, the newly renovated facility will provide an additional reason for meeting planners to book their conferences in Cancun.”
