Marion Sato isn't a concierge, per se. As the attache manager at Trump International Hotel & Tower in Waikiki, Sato is charged with going above and beyond the services of the average concierge or butler to provide guests with everything they need during their stay as part of Trump's company-wide Attache program. Here, she recently shared a few of her most memorable experiences at the hotel.Q: What makes Attache services different from traditional hotel concierge services?
The Attache staff reaches out to guests before they even arrive, offering to assist with everything the guest may need to create a seamless arrival experience. Most of this is done behind the scenes and we are working with all areas of the hotel to help create the perfect vacation experience for our guests.
Q: What are some of the most unusual requests you and your staff have fielded?
We had an interesting challenge with a guest who requested that we prepare him with all of the things he needed to do a beach barbecue. He wanted us to set it up, since he had never done a barbecue before, so we had to organize a location, set up the fire and show him how to prepare the food for the grill.
Q: What do you suggest guests take advantage of during their stay at the Trump Waikiki?
They should take advantage of our complete Beach Attache service, the wonderful surfing experience provided by Ty Gurney's surf school and the exclusive gemstone massage in our spa. They should also end the day with cocktails on their personal lanai with dinner and dessert delivered by our in-room dining staff.Q: How often do you spot Mr. Trump?
I have already had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Trump's charming young son, and I look forward to meeting the legend himself one day.
