Following the company’s success expanding in China and the Middle East, Kempinski Hotels plans to add five hotels to its African portfolio in 2014. Anticipated openings include Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, Ghana and the Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski in Cairo, Egypt, in early 2014. A golf resort in Equatorial Guinea and additional hotels in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo will open later in the year.

“African hospitality traditions lay a great foundation for our expansion in Africa,” said Reto Witter, president and CEO of Kempinski Hotels. “We will continue our development strategy throughout the continent, partnering with key players in Africa to secure the best locations for our luxury properties.”
