One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos has been One&Only Resorts’ sole Mexico property for years, but that is soon to change.
This month, international developer Kerzner International Holdings Limited and private equity firm BK Partners entered into an agreement to build and operate two new Only&Only locations on the Pacific Coast of Mexico: One&Only Santa Maria de Xala, located south of Puerto Vallarta, and One&Only Mandarina in Riviera Nayarit. Neither property has announced an opening date as of press time.
The 2,965-acre One&Only Santa Maria de Xala will be set 60 miles south of Puerto Vallarta International Airport and will feature approximately 75 luxury villas and suites with private pools, plus a residential component. Resort guests will enjoy 5 miles of impressive beach; restaurants specializing in international fare; and a spa with amenities and treatments that incorporate the culture of the surrounding area.
Set about 30 miles north of Puerto Vallarta in Riviera Nayarit, One&Only Mandarina will feature 145 villas and private residential estates. Some villas will highlight the resort’s location in the rainforest while cliffside rooms will provide sweeping ocean views. All accommodation options will be designed to help guests experience the property’s spectacular natural surroundings. The resort will also feature an adult pool, a family pool, private cabanas and a beach club.
“I am thrilled we are able to partner with BK Partners to further develop Mexico as a world-class destination, building on the success of One&Only Palmilla,” said Alan Leibman, CEO of Kerzner International. “I am looking forward to introducing both of these resorts to our loyal One&Only guests and new guests alike. I am confident that One&Only will continue to define what ‘ultra-luxury’ means in the region.”
