The travel agent community is hard at work. Virtuoso, for instance, welcomed record numbers from its member agencies during its round of meetings in each of the organization’s six geographic regions throughout North America. Beginning Jan. 9 in New York City, additional gatherings took place at Ojai Valley Inn and Spa in Calif., and The St. Regis Mexico City, among other preferred hotels. Over the course of four weeks, Virtuoso drew nearly 1,700 participants — the group’s largest attendance in every region to date.
Vacation.com hit a milestone of its own, reporting record participation in its agent training programs. Approximately 14,900 training contacts were made in 2013 by way of Vacation.com members actively participating in on-demand webinars, virtual classes and in-person events. As part of its mission to provide accessible education and training, Vacation.com members have further opportunities to participate in upcoming regional training events, including an event in Denver on April 22. www.joinvacation.com, www.virtuoso.com
