Located just south of Cancun, Rosewood Mayakoba recently launched its latest spa experience: Kuxtal Sensory Garden Journey.
The resort’s new treatment builds off of the Mayan word kuxtal (“tree of life”) and aims to authentically emphasize the relationship between nature and mankind inspired by the Maya’s belief in harmony. During the three-hour spa session, one of four therapists will guide clients down a sacred Maya pathway toward the sensory garden. One wall displays 13 herbs with medicinal powers from the Riviera Maya region, and guests select one plant to be used in a nourishing tea, a scrub, a wrap and a massage.
The calming experience is $495 and includes a bottle of customized oil and a private meditation session. Last year, the hotel’s Sense Spa was named Best Hotel Spa in Mexico by the World Spa Awards.
