The Details

Trafalgar’s 2015 Family Experiences Collection is filled with activities designed for multigenerational families, and its newest itinerary takes travelers to Tokyo and Kyoto in Japan. On the eight-day Samurai Discovery tour, guests will stroll through the grounds of the Imperial Palace, visit the Ginza district for a sushi-making class and take a tour of the Five Lakes District at the northern base of Mount Fuji.

An indoor amusement park in Tokyo, calligraphy lessons and Taiko drumming classes are among the kid-friendly activities on this trip. Children will especially enjoy visiting Toei Kyoto Studio Park, a theme park where young guests will dress up as samurai and witness a live ninja performance.

Prices begin at $3,218 per person, based on a twin-share option, with regular departures from March to October 2015. The package includes six buffet breakfasts, three lunches and three dinners.
