According to a recent survey by The Affluent Traveler Collection, the demand for health and spa vacations is increasing. Several hundred of Affluent Traveler’s top agents participated in the survey, and 75 percent of those agents indicated a rise in spa and wellness vacations in 2013.
According to the survey, the top priorities for wellness travelers are nutrition and stress relief. Clients prefer healthy meal choices, extensive spa treatment options and a fitness center. Personal training and educational or nutrition classes are in decline, but yoga and Pilates classes are in high demand. These trips are usually planned by couples and are booked for four to seven nights. www.theaffluenttraveler.com
