Agent of Change

The Mark Travel Corporation

The Mark Travel Corporation recently launched “Agent of Change,” a travel agent education program that aims to help leisure travel advisors succeed by becoming more sales-oriented, profitable and relevant within an increasingly competitive landscape.

Why It Matters:
In an industry where advisor-training programs may fall into two categories — dull/outdated online classes or overly promotional/sponsored courses — the Agent of Change program could be a breath of fresh air in the marketplace. Participants will have access to dozens of local events and an online learning platform. This new, hands-on way to learn will feature topics such as the latest in consumer engagement practices, business insights from industry leaders and more.

Fast Facts:
- The program was announced at the annual Mark Travel Corporation Summit, which took place in Cancun, Mexico.

- Agent of Change is meant for leisure-oriented front-line advisors, independent agents, agency owners and managers.

- The program includes hands-on and online training from industry professionals.

What They Are Saying:
“This effort is unique in our industry,” said Mike Going, executive vice president for The Mark Travel Corporation. “Agents currently must choose between staid academics and overly promotional, sponsored coursework. Agent of Change courses are designed for what agents need: tools to be better, more successful, and more profitable.”

“Agent of Change represents our company’s unwavering commitment to assisting, empowering and educating travel agents on the critical issues they face in this ever-evolving market,” said Bill La Macchia Jr., chief engagement officer of La Macchia Enterprises, parent company of TMTC. “This movement is part of the natural evolution of our efforts to invest in the agents who play such an important role in the leisure travel industry.”
