Carnival Cruise Lines honored 15 travel agencies as recipients of its recently created “Excellence Awards” at a two-day conference and gala awards reception that began Oct. 2 in Miami. Considerations for nomination by the cruise line’s sales team included innovative marketing techniques, sales success strategies and brand advocacy. Winners also enjoyed a meet-and-greet with Gerry Cahill, president and CEO of Carnival Cruise Lines; Lynn Torrent, executive vice president of sales and guest services; Joni Rein, vice president of worldwide sales; and Micky Arison, chairman of Carnival Corporation & plc, among others. Carnival’s management team also shared presentations about the cruise line’s emerging product innovations and marketing tactics.
“We created the Excellence Awards as a way to celebrate the many success stories we hear of travel agencies,” said Rein. “Rather than solely reward sales results, we wanted to highlight agencies that are showing growth through unique success strategies as well.”
