From Oct. 23-26, the Family Travel Association (FTA) hosted its 2016 FTA Summit at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Ariz. Family travel experts, industry leaders and media gathered for the trade-only, conference-style event, which offered attendees presentations, interactive workshops, research and networking opportunities.
On the second-annual summit’s opening day, Rainer Jenss, founder and president of the FTA, welcomed attendees with an introduction to the event’s guiding theme: an exploration of how to inspire more families to travel and to make it more accessible. Panels covering different topics related to family travel were offered throughout the summit, including one that discussed the modern experience of travel agents, with panelists including TravelAge West Editor-in-Chief Kenneth Shapiro and travel agents Cari Gray, Nancy Damieneas and Sally Black.
