On Dec. 2, 2015, in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Palace Resorts commemorated the grand opening of Moon Palace Jamaica Grande, the brand’s first property in the Caribbean. Attendees included local media, dignitaries and government officials, such as Portia Simpson Miller, prime minister of Jamaica, and Kenneth Wykeham McNeil, minister of tourism for Jamaica.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in the resort’s lobby, followed by property tours and speeches from executives. The evening concluded with dinner and live entertainment.
“We are truly humbled by the support and warm welcome, as evident in the attendance of so many respected officials and dignitaries at the inaugural celebration of Moon Palace Jamaica Grande,” said Gibran Chapur, executive vice president of Palace Resorts.
