Travel Exchange, which includes the National Tourism Association (NTA) Convention, the United Motorcoach Expo and the Faith Travel Association Conference, will be held in New Orleans from Jan. 18 to 22. Registration for event is already 6 percent ahead of 2014, with 35 percent more tour operator registrants compared to this time last year.

According to a mid-2014 survey of NTA members, the association’s tour operators are becoming increasingly active in diverse markets and indicate growth in agritourism, sports, faith-based travel, ecotourism and voluntourism. Many of these tour operators will attend Travel Exchange.

Pam Inman, president of NTA, accredits the rise in registration to better business, well-executed marketing and the appeal of the host city.

“We know that where buyers go, sellers will follow, so we are planning for a bump in attendance,” said Inman.
