Last month, the Kempinski Young Artist Programme celebrated its 5th anniversary at Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin. The program supports young artists in music and the visual arts by subsidizing their travel to promote international study and cross-cultural exchange. The event was held in cooperation with Bard College Berlin. Leon Botstein, president of the college, directed a discussion panel with various figures in the arts as well as Young Artist Programme alumni.
The Kempinski Young Artist Programme is led by Duncan O’Rourke, chief operating officer of Kempinski, and program director Marylea van Daalen. The program has supported 21 artists so far, including singers, conductors, pianists, painters and photographers.
