From June 21 to July 2, Ya’lla Tours USA hosted a humanitarian trip to Cuba for a group of travel agents from across the U.S. On the 12-day, 11-night tour, agents explored Havana, Trinidad de Cuba, Santiago, Camguey and Holguin, stopping at historical and cultural sites such as Bay of Pigs, Valle de los Ingenios (Valley of the Sugar Mills) and Callejon de Hamel, an arts district in Havana. The group also visited and distributed donated items to churches, synagogues and community centers around Cuba.
“The Ya’lla Tours trip to Cuba was a most memorable experience for me,” said Debbie Forde of Oregon-based McMinnville Travelwise. “Cuba is such a vibrant country with art, music and entertainment around every corner. The nostalgia of the midcentury cars was delightful. They reflect the ingenious resourcefulness of the Cubans. I feel so fortunate to have visited Cuba at this pivotal point in time and look forward to returning.”
