After suspending operations along the Nile River a few years ago, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection will return to the region in fall of 2015, sailing the 82-passenger River Tosca.
Why It Matters:
Uniworld’s return to Egypt highlights the demand for the destination after numerous tour and cruise companies suspended operations there in 2011. With unrest in Egypt stabilizing post-election, Uniworld and other brands have seen increased interest in the region, and travel agents can expect to see similar interest in the future. Uniworld’s River Tosca will set sail on Oct. 3, 2015, and will bring guests to cultural sites such as Luxor and the Great Sphinx of Giza.
- Uniworld will resume its first sailing on Oct. 3, 2015, with the 12-day Splendors of Egypt & the Nile itinerary that begins and ends in Cairo.
- Guests will spend four nights at the Four Seasons Cairo at Nile Plaza and seven nights onboard the t 82-passenger all-suite River Tosca.
What They Are Saying:
“Egypt is one of the most awe-inspiring destinations that I have ever visited, and one that no culturally curious traveler will want to miss,” says Guy Young, president of Uniworld. “I am delighted we are able to resume sailing the Nile and taking our guests to Egypt’s most historic sites.”
