Visit Wales plans to increase tourism earnings by 10 percent over the next seven years and is targeting U.S. and Canadian markets and partnering with North American travel trade in order to achieve that goal. The tourism board’s initiatives to bolster the product available to the North American travel trade include: fam trips, partner marketing programs, marketing collateral, a training program and other resources to help the travel trade succeed in selling Wales.
Upon completing training with Visit Wales, travel agents can be listed on its U.S. and Canada websites to receive consumer referrals. Likewise, tour operators running programs to Wales receive free listings on Visit Wales’ website, global search database and in its print publications. www.trade.visitwales.com
