To respond to the demands of active clients and those inspired by the brand’s RunWestin program, Westin Hotels & Resorts will be incorporating specialized activity concierges into its concierge program in North America. In addition to restaurant and excursion reservations, clients will now have access to experts in skiing, hiking, cycling and surfing, depending on the property’s location.
The Westin Los Angeles Airport in Los Angeles, for example, has appointed a Surf Concierge to assist travelers looking to catch a few waves between layovers. A Hiking Concierge at The Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa, Victoria in British Columbia will help guests select trails to explore, accompany them on a hike and lead a yoga class at the summit of Mount Finlayson.
“We know that today’s travelers are more active and more socially connected than ever before, but with much less free time, so the way they engage with hotel concierges has evolved,” said Bob Jacobs, vice president of brand management for Westin Hotels & Resorts. “Expanding our concierges’ expertise to offer diverse active experiences feels like a natural extension to continue to take the stress out of staying active on the road.”
