Windstar Cruises has been named the official cruise line of the James Beard Foundation (JBF), a nonprofit organization that advocates for chefs, as well as for sustainability in America’s food culture. The exclusive partnership will include the James Beard Foundation Culinary Cruise Collection, launching in May, in addition to food demonstrations and menu inclusion of JBF recipes onboard all sailings, starting this summer.
Why It Matters:
The announcement follows the success of Windstar’s three limited-edition, culinary-focused sailings hosted by JBF chefs in 2016. These inaugural sailings were so well-received by agents and clients alike that the partnership has been expanded to include a sailing each month through the end of 2017. The desire for quality in onboard culinary experiences is stronger than ever, and this lauded partnership is a step in the right direction.
- Windstar will act as a sponsor for multiple James Beard Foundation events, including the 2017 James Beard Awards in Chicago; the JBF Celebrity Chef Tour; Chefs and Champagne; and the JBF’s Taste American events.
- Renowned chef Hugh Acheson, current “Top Chef” judge and winner of multiple JBF awards, will lead the James Beard Foundation Epicurean Explorations of France, Spain, and Portugal sailing on Aug. 15, 2017. Sommelier Steven Grubbs will also be onboard.
What They Are Saying:
