TravelAge West was recently honored with the Gold Award for design in the Western region given by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE). The publication’s Art Director, Deborah Dimond, was recognized for the design of the opening page and spread of the article, “The Perfect Fit” (July 4, 2009).
Dimond was also acknowledged with a Gold Award for Feature Article Design for her work on Family Getaways magazine, a supplement of TravelAge West.
In addition, the magazine’s Online Editor, Monica Poling, was awarded a Bronze Award for Editorial Excellence in the Feature Article category for her story “The Conversation Era” (March 2, 2009). This story examines the role of social media as used by travel agents.
“I’m very proud of Deborah and Monica. It’s great to see both of them get the recognition they deserve from our industry,” said Editor-in-Chief Kenneth Shapiro.
ASBPE’s Azbee Awards of Excellence program is an extremely competitive award recognizing business-to-business, trade, association and professional publications. The awards recognize outstanding work by magazines, newsletters and digital media and are open to all U.S.-based publications.
