Spend 10 days wandering markets, conversing with locals and getting up and close and personal with native animals on this tour of Mongolia. The trip begins in Ulaanbaatar, where travel agents will visit the country’s largest functioning monastery and the natural history museum, known for its vast collection of dinosaur fossils. Next stops include the Gobi Desert, where travelers will ride camels, hike through gorges and overnight in gers, followed by the isolated sand dunes of Khongoryn Els. A visit to the Flaming Cliffs, an excursion in Terelj National Park and a tour of the ancient capital of Karakorum are highlights on the last half of the tour. Accommodations, English-speaking guides and all meals and entrance fees are part of the price.
