On this 10-day tour, agents will visit several of Turkey’s most famous landmarks and historic cities. The trip will begin in the major metropolitan hub of Istanbul, where guests can see the Blue Mosque — which is named for the 17th-century Iznik tiles that cover its walls — and the Hippodrome, an ancient stadium for chariot races. Other highlights in Istanbul include a visit to Hagia Sophia, which was built as a Christian basilica by Byzantine emperor Justinian, and the ancient Roman site of Hierapolis. Agents will also tour the city of Canakkale; visit the legendary city-state of Troy, the setting in Homer’s The Iliad; and make a stop at Kusadasi, where they will drive to the ancient port of Ephesus. The final day will include a full-day seminar on selling Turkey to clients. Accommodations include Marmara, Arcadia Blue and Istanbul Hilton in Istanbul; Kolin in Canakkale; and Charisma in Kusadasi. The rate includes accommodations; most meals; roundtrip economy airfare with Turkish Airlines from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco or Washington, D.C.; domestic airfare in Turkey; and entrance fees.
