The rate begins at $1,699 per person, based on double occupancy, for a lower-deck stateroom during the June 28 departure. The rate for a lower-deck stateroom on the July 18 departure begins at $1,799. A companion is welcome to join, and a single supplement is available for an additional 50 percent of the price. Cabin upgrades are available, and port taxes are $199 per traveler.
This 12-day all-inclusive Danube river cruise will take passengers through seven countries — Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania — onboard the River Discovery II ship. During the voyage, travel agents will tour the gardens of Belvedere Palace in Vienna; walk Old Town Bratislava; and explore Vajdahunyad Castle in Budapest. Other highlights include a visit to Kalemegdan Fortress in Belgrade and a trip through “The Iron Gates”, a natural gorge on the Danube. The journey ends in Bucharest with sightseeing and a visit to the city’s Revolution Square, Arcul de Triumf and the Romanian Athenaeum concert hall. The rate includes accommodations, all onboard meals, daily sightseeing, nightly live music and educational lectures on the Balkan nations.
