Cunard Line has announced its “Cunard 100 Grand Giveaway,” a contest designed to support the line’s prized network of travel agents by awarding funding for the most innovative marketing campaigns.
The contest will award a grand total of $100,000, with two $10,000 grand prizes and sixteen $5,000 prizes to winning travel agents.
The agent’s marketing plan must focus on one or a combination of the following key offerings:
• Transatlantic Crossings through June 2014
• 2014 Europe Voyages
• 2014 World Cruises, Liners and/or Segments
• Regional Voyages
• Grills Suites
Entries should detail the campaign’s travel destination, theme, how funds would be spent, and how ideas will be disseminated throughout one or more marketing channel (e.g., direct mail, email, newspaper and magazine advertising, radio, banner advertising, local consumer travel show, cruise night, etc.). Agents with a qualified database can propose using Cunard’s branded postcards or collateral material to send with a cover letter from their agency.
To enter, travel agents must complete and submit a contest form by midnight (12:00 a.m. PT), June 28. All entries will be reviewed by the Cunard Executive Committee, including president and managing director Peter Shanks; executive vice president for sales, marketing and customer service Jan Swartz; vice president of North America Stanley Birge; and vice president of sales, North America Brian O’Connor.

Winners will be notified by July 17 and announcements will follow on OneSource. Funds must be used on the approved marketing plan by Nov. 30.
