Carnival is celebrating the second anniversary of its popular Travel Agent Rewards Program with a new “Double the Appreciation, Double the Rewards” promotion for travel agents throughout the month of February. All new online bookings made by the end of the month and entered into the program will be eligible for double rewards points.

The only program of its kind in the cruise industry, Carnival’s Travel Agent Rewards program allows agents to earn points for the activities they do every day. Travel agents can earn 50 to 3,000 points per activity in the program, all of which will be doubled as part of the current promotion. Points can be redeemed for Carnival logo items, $50 and $100 Visa/MasterCard gift cards, iPads and flat screen televisions. Redemption items are valued between 2,500 and 100,000 points.

“Since launching the program two years ago, we’ve had more than 30,000 travel agents enroll, over one million activities entered and 13,500 items redeemed,” said Joni Rein, Carnival’s vice president of worldwide sales. “We hit record levels of rewards earned in 2013 and are so excited that travel agents continue to show such strong enthusiasm for the program.”

Since the program’s launch, the most popular point-earners are making new bookings, booking cruise rookies and travel professionals sailing on Carnival. These activities are also the highest point earners in the program, valued at 150, 750 and 1,000 points each.

Agents can also earn points by attending a Carnival Conversations event, trade show, training session or other Carnival-affiliated event; reading emails from Carnival on sales, news and promotions; graduating from Carnival Passport program levels and visiting www.goccl.com.

As part of the program’s guidelines, travel agents are given 90 days to enter activities from the time they are completed, allowing them ample time to receive credit for their points earned.
