The Alaska Marine Highway System is offering special deals to winter ferry travelers. Through April 2012, licensed drivers of passenger vehicles will be eligible to travel for free when accompanying a drivable vehicle on any Alaska Marine Highway ferry trip. Travelers taking the ferry between November 2011 and March 2012 will be treated to a 30 percent discount for full-fare adults, children and vehicles on roundtrips.
In addition, children under age 6 can ride the ferry for free, and kids ages 6 to 11 will ride for half price. Some offers may be combined for further savings.
Alaska’s ferry system is known for offering stunning views of the Inside Passage and is a fun way to travel between coastal communities in the Last Frontier.
