With the upcoming summer season approaching, many carriers — including Virgin America, JetBlue and United Airlines — have increased airlift to Anchorage.
• Running from June 6 until Sept. 8, Virgin America has announced summer nonstop service between San Francisco and Anchorage with six connecting flights to San Francisco via Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Austin and San Diego.
• Alaska Airlines and Delta Air Lines plan to increase direct flights from Los Angeles.
• JetBlue will add nonstop flights from Anchorage to Seattle in addition to nonstop flights from Anchorage to Long Beach, Calif.
• East coast travelers will see nonstop United Airlines flights from Newark to Anchorage from July 6 to Aug 31. Delta will also add direct flights from Atlanta from June 21 to Aug. 31.
