Grand Canyon Railway (GCR) will operate a Halloween-themed train with special runs to its secret pumpkin patch on select weekends this October.

The Pumpkin Patch Train will depart at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on October weekends, with a pumpkin for each child included as part of the package. Guests will choose a pumpkin to take home from the patch, as well as enjoy refreshments such as pumpkin pie and hot cider, and can take part in a hay maze and crafts. In addition, pumpkin decorating and face painting will take place at the depot.

“Picking out a pumpkin for Halloween is good old-fashioned family fun,” said Bob Baker, general manager for GCR. “Going by train just makes the event more fun and memorable.”

Tickets for the Pumpkin Patch Train are $20 for adults and $15 for children ages 2-15. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
