El Portal Sedona Hotel was voted as one of the “Top Small Hotels” in the United States in the annual Conde Nast Traveler: 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards Survey. With more than 8 million votes cast in the survey, these awards reflect the combined opinions of 28,876 Conde Nast Traveler readers, who rated the hotels, cities and islands they had visited in the past year.

This award marks a significant achievement for the boutique hotel, which provides a unique lodging experience with 12 guest suites and offerings of breakfast, afternoon hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer. Located in the Arts and Crafts District of Sedona, Ariz., the hotel features turn-of-the-century Southwestern design and a number of pet-friendly features for canine visitors, including 1,000 square feet of dog friendly patio area. Each suite comes with a balcony or patio, whirlpool bath, fireplace, free wireless Internet and other accommodations. Owners Steve and Connie Segner designed the hotel with the idea of catering to discerning guests and their pets, and have a longtime involvement in the pet care industry.

The Segners want guests to feel at home and to come and go as they please with as much or as little assistance as they desire during their stay. According to the readers of Conde Nast Traveler, the hotel owners seem to be succeeding in their goals.
