Through October 2009, San Diego’s waterfront landscape will assume an artistic air as it hosts an exhibition of large-scale sculptures by renowned French artist Bernar Venet. Currently on display in San Diego, the world-traveling Bernar Venet: Monumental Works exhibition consists of 12 steel sculptures situated along the coastal district. As a result, the city is effectively transformed into a sculpture garden where art and the outdoors come together in striking juxtaposition.

As the official hotel sponsor of the exhibit, the Omni San Diego Hotel is currently offering an exclusive Sculpture Culture Package that aims to fully immerse guests in Venet’s sculptures and the French tradition from which they originate. Indeed, the immersion process begins upon the guests’ arrival, as the Omni features one of Venet’s imposing works at the very entrance of its property. The Sculpture Culture Package includes overnight accommodations for two, croissants and cafe au laits from Omni’s Morsel’s Specialty Coffee Bar and complementary overnight valet parking. The package also includes a map of San Diego that pinpoints the locations of the sculptures on display as well as the locations of nearby French bistros. This way, guests exploring Venet’s works can refuel without removing themselves from the French vein of their sculpture tour.

Ideal for both local and out-of-town art lovers, the Sculpture Culture Package starts at $229 before tax.
