The new Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort & Spa has named three national sales managers to its pre-opening team.

“We are very pleased to welcome Steve Mallory, Ripley Vaughn and Jed Arrogante to our growing team,” said Kathy Van Vechten, the resort’s vice president of sales and marketing.

Mallory, Vaughn and Arrogante are now responsible for sales to groups and meeting with planners interested in using the resort for events, festivals, conventions and other professional gatherings.

“With interest in group and event business increasing by the day, we look forward to welcoming a full roster of programs and meetings, beginning as soon as midsummer 2012,” said Van Vechten.

Steve Mallory comes from a manager position at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Southern California, where he managed sales for the national group market. Ripley Vaughn was originally part of the Hospitality Performance Network and was a senior sales manager for the Eldorado Hotel & Spa in Santa Fe, N.Mex. As a former sales team member for The Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad, Jed Arrogante also brings plenty of experience in sales to the pre-opening team.

When it opens in July, the Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort & Spa will feature 215 guestrooms, panoramic ocean views, a 4,000-square-foot swimming pool and the 5,600-square-foot Ocean Crest Spa.
