The Los Angeles African-American Guide, published in summer 2011, can now be downloaded online at www.discoverlosangeles.com/meetings.
“The Los Angeles African-American Guide highlights many of the unique and varied African-American dining options, nightlife, hot spots and African-American heritage attractions throughout the city,” said Michael K. Krouse, senior vice president, sales, for LA Inc., the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau. “This timeless guide, which was used by the NAACP during its convention held in August of this year, can be used many times over for the African-American groups planning to meet in Los Angeles.”
Articles in the guide highlight unique African-American contributions to the City of Los Angeles, including architectural achievements, popular dining and nightlife spots, African-American talents featured on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and various events designed to celebrate African-American culture throughout the year.
In addition, the Guide includes “Los Angeles Reinvents Itself,” an in-depth article written by Soloman J. and Gloria M. Herbert, publishers of Black Meetings and Tourism magazine. The article highlights various attractions and neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles that feature African-American heritage.
