Taking on the role of ol’ Saint Nick, the Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach is offering a package based on the results of a quiz given at check-in that determines whether clients have been naughty or nice throughout the year. Those deemed naughty will receive turn-down service that includes a lump of chocolate coal, a bottle of wine or two Bloody Mary’s with breakfast, mistletoe and massage oil. Nice guests can enjoy turn-down service featuring milk and cookies, a halo crown and the choice between a box of Christmas cookies or classic American pie. Those who do not wish to take the quiz will automatically be considered naughty.

No matter what the quiz outcome, all guests will receive breakfast for two (big American breakfast for naughty clients and light granola for nice ones), 2 p.m. late check-out and complimentary gift wrapping for up to five articles. Those who stay from Dec. 21-25 can take part in the hotel’s special evening hour of spiced cider and eggnog from 5-6 p.m. as well as schedule Christmas carolers to stop by their room between 6 and 8 p.m.

The package starts at $199 per night throughout December, based on room category. The promotion is valid through Jan. 3 and requires a three-day advance booking.
