San Francisco Travel Info for the Holidays

A new website provides San Francisco travel deals and more for holiday visits

The San Francisco Travel Association launched a new website in order to guide visitors to special holiday events, itineraries and hotel packages throughout the city.

The site features recommended holiday events and shopping itineraries, including unique San Francisco retailers and lesser-known opportunities for holiday festivities in and around the city.

In addition, site users will find offers for special holiday hotel packages at greatly reduced rates, as well as a Westfield San Francisco Centre VIP Passport to Savings. For added savings, visitors can book with an American Express card and earn a $50 Westfield San Francisco Centre gift card. Regional residents can sign up for Pier 39’s “Locals Only” program in order to receive 50 percent off at participating merchants during the season.

A few of the many featured holiday events include a variety of performances such as “Totem” by Cirque du Soleil, Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical,” “A Season” with the San Francisco Symphony and the San Francisco Ballet’s presentation of “The Nutcracker.” Other signature events include lighting ceremonies in iconic areas of the city such as Ghirardelli Square and the Castro neighborhood, ice skating in Union Square and the Embarcadero Center, sporting events, holiday-themed displays and exhibits throughout the city and many other celebratory activities for a variety of ages and interests.
