The Broadmoor Hotel and Resort in Colorado Springs, Colo., has announced an enhancement project for its Southlake building, one of five original buildings that opened with the resort in 1918. The renovations will begin in February and are scheduled to be completed in the early spring of 2012 to add a distinctive flair to the rooms and suites of this guest-favored building.

“Our history is one of our greatest assets,” said Dennis Lesko, Vice President of Marketing. “As we continue to be great stewards of what Spencer and Julie Penrose envisioned for The Broadmoor in 1918, we also know the expectations of our guests. This enhancement of Southlake is consistent with the look and feel of our grand resort while offering the amenities and services today’s traveler has come to expect.”

The renovations will include the addition of balconies, a new entry foyer, lighting, carpeting and furnishings. These changes will modernize the Southlake building while still maintaining the historic appeal that draws travelers to the resort.
