Estes Park, the eastern gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, has been named one of the best vacation destinations and one of the best day-trip spots in Colorado by The Weather Channel, TripAdvisor.com, Kids’ Pages and the Greeley Tribune.
The Weather Channel named Estes Park as the Ninth Best Family-Friendly Destination in the nation. It was the only Colorado resort area named on the list. According to Weather.com, “Estes Park is the place to be in July for the Rooftop Fair and Rodeo, with cowboys and concerts.”
TripAdvisor.com listed Estes Park as one of its top 25 destinations in the nation. In naming the community for a 2008 Travelers Choice Award, the site recognized Estes Park for its outdoor trails, white-water rafting, wildlife, art galleries, museums and the aerial tramway soaring above the village, the trees and the Continental Divide.
Regional honors came from two sources. Estes Park was a 2008 winner of Best Day Trip for Families by Kids’ Pages, a Colorado family magazine and Web site. Earlier this spring, Greeley Tribune subscribers also named Estes Park as the best day-trip destination.
