Rocky Mountain Park Inn debuted a new name and a newly enhanced commitment to eco-friendly operating practices as well as a partnership with the Rocky Mountain Nature Association (RMNA) this month.

The new program allows guests to make a $1 per night, voluntary donation to the RMNA Next Generation Fund when reserving rooms at Rocky Mountain Park Inn. The donations go toward supporting research and educational programs for the RMNA, as well as building trails and rehabilitation for the Rocky Mountain Park. In addition, if clients book a special Rocky Mountain Explorer Package, a portion of the purchase price is also donated to the RMNA’s Next Generation Fund specifically fund raising for educational programs and products for youth and families within the park area.

More environmental goals for 2011 also include improving green purchasing and screening for environmentally friendly cleaning products, replacing harsher chemicals, as well as reducing energy use and water consumption by an additional 5 percent. Forever Resorts have been recognized for their eco-friendly efforts and programs before. In 2004, Rocky Mountain Park Inn was the first lodging property in Colorado to receive the Gold Level Leadership award from the Colorado Department of Health and Environment.
