Going green in Aspen this summer can be good for the environment and your wallet. The City of Aspen, together with the Canary Initiative, is offering a green incentive package valued at more than $150 through Oct. 15.

Guests booking two or more nights at any participating Aspen lodge will receive a $50 gasoline voucher; a $40 voucher for two free one-day bicycle rentals; two free bus rides to Maroon Bells; a Canary Tag certificate confirming that $20 has been invested in a verified energy efficiency and renewable energy project; and a cloth Aspen shopping bag.

Guests driving a hybrid vehicle will receive additional incentives, including two complimentary passes to the Aspen Recreation Center (valued at $30) and two adult foot passes for the Aspen Mountain Silver Queen Gondola (valued at $48).

Many Aspen lodges are taking part in the incentive program, including The Sky Hotel, Frias Properties and Resort Quest. Only one promotion package is allowed per family. The package is not available for groups or for pre-existing reservations.
