A number of exciting events will be taking place in Denver, Colo., during Labor Day weekend as well as the month of September.
A Taste of Colorado
At Denver’s Civic Center Park, a four-day festival, A Taste of Colorado, which is a Labor Day tradition in Denver, will be held Sept. 2-5. Fifty restaurants from the area will be offering a variety of cuisine; there will be arts and crafts, children’s activities, and The Lego Experience Tour will be present giving kids the opportunity to build Lego creations for display at the festival. The festival also features live music from various rock bands such as Herman’s Hermits and Earth, Wind & Fire. More than 500,000 people make this event a focus of their Labor Day Weekend.
Alison Krauss, Santana and George Lopez
From Sep 2 to 4, bluegrass singer Alison Krauss will be playing at the Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. Guitarist Santana and comedian George Lopez will also be headlining.
Also during Labor Day weekend, Dicks Sporting Goods Park will host the band Phish, who will play for three nights, Sept. 2-4, with available onsite camping.
The Denver Art Museum is inviting guests to get marvelously muddy on Sept. 3. The museum will be free for guests and will showcase its Marvelous Mud program that provides information on clay through history.
A new 25th anniversary production of the musical “Les Miserables” at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, features new staging and re-imagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo. This new production has already been acclaimed by critics, fans and new audiences and is breaking box office records. Performances take place Aug. 30-Sept. 10.
Fireworks at Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park
End a day of roller-coaster riding with a fireworks display at Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park. An evening fireworks show will take place throughout Labor Day weekend.
Denver Merchandise Mart
From Sept. 2 to 4, the Denver Merchandise Mart will feature psychic readers and magical healers at a fair for the holistic community. These gatherings provide a safe environment to explore the deeper aspects of life, metaphysical philosophies and holistic lifestyles.
