Attention all BBQ enthusiasts! The Broadmoor, one of Colorado Springs’ most highly acclaimed and historic hotels, is currently accepting reservations for its 2009 BBQ University event. BBQ University is an intense three-night, three-day interactive course taught by grilling guru Steven Raichlen. Open to both novice grillers and BBQ masters, this hands-on course provides expert advice on grilling techniques and broadens students’ BBQ horizons as they experiment with over 25 wood burning, charcoal, gas and infrared grills. Learning the principles and techniques used by master grillers, students will learn both what to grill and how to grill it – all while engaging in one of the memorable experiences of their culinary lives.

Participation in the BBQ University course is available exclusively to guests of The Broadmoor. Guests must purchase the BBQ University Package, which starts at $2,518 for a single student and $3,893 for couples. This package includes accommodations for three nights, BBQ University tuition, an invitation to the BBQ University welcome reception, complimentary breakfast, a daily multi-course BBQ lunch featuring dishes learned in class and a 10 percent discount at the Broadmoor spa, golf courses and retail shops. Two consecutive sessions of BBQ University will be offered – the first session runs June 11-14 and the second runs June 14-17.
