Free Stand Up Paddle Boarding At Mauian Hotel

May 21, 2013

For a limited time this summer, the Mauian Hotel on Napili Bay is running a special offer that includes free stand up paddle board (SUP) lessons and rentals. SUP originated in Hawaii and is now one of the most rapidly growing sports around the world.

The Room and Board special is offered with new bookings in partial ocean view studio units for travel from July 22-Aug. 31, 2013. With a five-night minimum stay, guests receive a free 90-minute stand up paddle boarding lesson and unlimited use of a rental SUP board for one additional day, a value of over $200 per person.

The Mauian’s partial ocean view studios, priced at $268 per night, are located in the hotel’s two beachfront buildings, just a few steps away from Napili Beach, offering private lanais with diagonal views to the bay.

The SUP lessons and board rentals are provided by Tiki Man Stand Up Paddle, which operates on both Napili Bay and adjacent Kapalua Bay. Sessions include instruction on mounting, standing, paddling and steering followed by up to one hour of independent paddling. For all SUP activities, clients must know how to swim. Children are accepted depending upon their swimming skills.

The 44-unit low-rise Mauian Hotel was built on two acres by a Hawaiian family in 1959. All studios, which have been upgraded recently, measure 350 square feet and come with fully-equipped kitchens and private lanais. To preserve its character as a peaceful hideaway, the Mauian does not have phones, stereos or televisions in its guest units. Complimentary wi-fi is available in all rooms.

Rates include a free daily continental breakfast and a weekly poolside party with live entertainment on Thursday evenings.
