Sheraton Kauai completes $16 million renovation // (c) 2012 Sheraton Kauai Resort
Sheraton Kauai Resort has wrapped up a $16 million revitalization, and the Poipu-based property now offers clients a range of new facilities, restaurants and amenities.
Upon arrival at the 394-room south shore resort, guests are greeted by a refurbished porte-cochere. Its upgraded ocean lobby -- a contemporary island-style space with a high, vaulted ceiling -- is embellished with red and natural wood accents and Hawaiian art.
Sheraton Kauai's new open-air ocean courtyard features tiki torches and six intimate conversational seating areas, three of which have fire pits. The new Link@Sheraton Café is also in the courtyard, offering Starbucks coffee, beverages, snacks and sandwiches.
A new multi-level swimming pool boasts eight private cabanas equipped with sleek beach furniture, flat-screen TVs and ceiling fans. Its poolside restaurant and beach bar is called Lava’s on Poipu Beach.
The new RumFire Poipu Beach restaurant presents a menu of Hawaiian-rooted cuisine with global influences. Its modern decor features shades of white and light blue, natural wood tables and chairs, and blown-glass lighting fixtures.
For clients seeking a venue for meetings, banquets or special celebrations, the resort now also offers Luana Kai, the only oceanfront function space on Kauai.
