A pair of Waikiki properties recently strengthened their sales and marketing clout by partnering with high-profile chains.
Aqua Hotels and Resorts joined Best Western International to offer travelers the only Best Western hotel in Waikiki – the Best Western Coconut Waikiki. The 81-room property re-opened on June 1 after an extensive $2.6 million renovation upgrade, making it one of Aqua’s Boutique Hotel choices. “We are thrilled to have the only Best Western hotel in Waikiki to offer guests,” said Elizabeth Churchill, Aqua’s vice president of sales and marketing. “As the management company for Coconut Waikiki, we’re excited to be part of Best Western’s global marketing reach and look forward to welcoming their Gold Crown Club International members.” Aqua’s new relationship with Best Western is the company’s first foray into marketing partnerships with international hotel brands. “This is a great opportunity for us to extend the aloha spirit to world travelers,” added Churchill.
Meanwhile, Marc Resorts Hawaii announced its new partnership with the Ilima Hotel, adding 98 studios, one- and two-bedroom suites in Waikiki. The agreement includes the selected management of Ilima Hotel’s contracted online and traditional wholesale accounts, sales and marketing and reservation services. The addition of the Ilima fits synergistically with Marc's existing condominium products in Oahu, Molokai and Kauai. “We are excited to partner with the Ilima Hotel, a quality gem in the heart of Waikiki”, said Paul Tomonari, executive vice president of Marc Resorts Hawaii. “Marc’s marketing expertise will assist us in building a stronger relationship with key travel partners.” said Phil Sammer, general manager of the Ilima Hotel. “Their central reservation component will also benefit our individual guests who can access their toll free number from anywhere in the world."
